“Therapy isn’t always fun and comfy. Sometimes you may walk away from a session feeling enlightened, empowered, and full of clarity. Other times, however, you may end a session feeling confused, challenged, or uncomfortable.

This is where the growing takes place. If a therapist only agrees with you, there’d be no room for challenging your unhelpful thinking patterns (cognitive distortions) or for redirecting your typical thinking patterns to more positively influence you mood and actions.
