Hi, I’m Emily Duncan, LCSW.
You’re already stronger than you think you are.
Not just another therapist…
My guiding principles
Trust and Rapport
The foundation on which quality therapy is built. I will ensure you feel comfortable, respected, and safe. I get how vulnerable it can feel to begin therapy. I will guide you through each session and support you opening up to me at your own pace.
Compassion
I will treat you as the unique individual that you are. I will extend empathy throughout all sessions. My approach will help you feel relieved, understood, and supported.
Collaboration
You are the expert of your own experience. I will collaborate with you on your therapy goals. I will also work with other providers, at your request, to ensure holistic treatment. Remember, therapy is a service for you.
Application of Skills
I will teach practical skills and tools that you can implement after your very first session. This will help begin decreasing and managing your unhelpful thoughts and feelings immediately.
Meet Emily…
Combining my internship and employment, I have provided psychotherapy services for children, adolescents, teens, and adults for over six years.
After marrying in October 2021, I moved from my hometown of Bowling Green, Kentucky to the Bellevue area of Nashville, Tennessee in order to be closer to my husband’s job in downtown Franklin.
The beauty of telehealth allowed me to continue working with clients as we planned a wedding, house-hunted, married, moved, and got situated. Being removed from the physical presence of my coworkers challenged me in ways that only furthered my growth and inspired me to open Duncan Counseling, LLC.
Combining my internship and employment, I have provided psychotherapy services for children, adolescents, teens, and adults for over six years.
So here I am. Offering telehealth services to those who simply feel like something is “off.” Some call it anxiety. Some call it overwhelmed, burnt out, stressed, off balance, nerves shot, what have you. Let me guide you through your feelings and help you navigate your way to a more peaceful life.
“ I’ve been struggling for a while now.”
I get it…
